This is a study of the E Phrygian mode in the open position. It is a series of dexterity exercises to help you learn this mode, and to develop speed and dexterity. While mainly designed for the flat-picked acoustic guitar, it can be practiced using an electric guitar or while fingerpicking a nylon stringed guitar. You should begin with a metronome, at a pace that best suits you and gradually increase your speed as you feel comfortable. Start each exercise with a downstroke and then alternate between up and down strokes.
